Manowar - Discografia

Joey Demaio estaba trabajando como técnico de bajo y encargado de la pirotecnia para Black Sabbath cuando conoció a Ross the Boss (Ross Friedman, o también Ross Funicello, ex-Dictators) que tocaba para Shaking street, los teloneros de Black Sabbath en esos momentos.

Reclutaron luego al vocalista Eric Adams y al batería Donny Hamzik y ya con el nombre de Manowar grabaron su álbum de debut «Battle hymns», que incluía la canción Dark avenger con una narración recitada por Orson Wells.

Battle Hymns - 1982

En mi opinion el mejor album de la banda con un sonido incluso Hard rock, el album incluye la participacion de Orson Welles en la cansion Dark Avenger.Despues la banda se cambiaria de discografica y firmarian su contrato son su propia sangre .El album fue regrabado el año 2011 a peticion de los fans

Joey DeMaio, bajista y líder del grupo, comenta que “Nos llegó la opinión de varios fans que querían escuchar este disco con el sonido de nuestros días. Para ellos era el disco perfecto, para mí no tanto pero sí es cierto que hay buenos temas. La regrabación del disco nos ha permitido tener a nuestro alcance tecnología que no teníamos cuando lo grabamos”.El sonido del disco es buenisimo pero yo me quedo con la version original, el disco cuenta ademas con la participacion de Christopher Lee quien prestó su voz en una grabación hecha en los famosos estudios de Abbey Road londinenses.Los bunus del disco son presentaciones en vivo de los primeros años de la banda.
